Being a part of the 10% movement means you are ready to confront your trauma, not hide from it. It means you are willing to take the first step towards healing, acknowledging that you are not alone in your struggle. It means you are ready to share your story, to inspire others, and to let them know that it's okay to not be okay, just not ok to stay that way. It means you are ready to take back control of your life, to grow, to learn, and to become stronger. It means you are ready to make a commitment to yourself, to invest in your mental health, and to strive for a better tomorrow. Being a part of the 10% movement means you are ready to embark on the journey to midnight, to face the darkness, and to emerge into the light. It means you are ready to live, not just survive.
Where the movement started;
On March 17th 2017, I decided I was going to end my life. I wrote my suicide note. A chance call from a great friend saved my life. Ben is the first member of the 10% club. After his call, I decided if today was a good day to die, then so is tomorrow. On March 18th, I made the same decision. Minute by minute, day by day; I survived and I healed. Those days turned into months and months into years. Every day I ask myself “what good decision did I make today?” As a 10%er, every day we make a good decision that helps someone else. We ask how you’re doing and genuinely want to know the answer. We care. We love. We fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. My name is Matt Griffin and I’m a 10%er.
